FAQs

Q: Why should my preschooler start computer classes now?

A: Research has shown that technology has a place in an early childhood environment. Computers naturally motivate children to explore and learn. Studies show that a technology education can help young children with cognitive and social development. Computers have been shown to contribute to a preschooler's language and literacy development as well as leading to a positive attitude toward learning as a whole. Computer instruction in small groups allows children to take different roles in learning which helps develop social skills and cooperation thereby helping a child's self-concept.

Clicks 'n Giggles is committed to continued research of new developments in technology and early childhood education to provide the best, most relevant education for our preschool students. Our curriculum meets or exceeds state and federal standards for technology education.

Q: I already have computers. Why should I sign up my child for these classes?

A: Children benefit most from a variety of educational experiences. Self-directed learning is important for a child's learning in any area, but directed learning and cooperative learning are also vital to a child's success. Our classes are conducted by trained instructors in small groups to provide instructor led and peer-to-peer learning so the students can get more out of their self-directed time at the computers in their homes or centers. The software we use is fully researched and only implemented if determined to be of the highest educational value. Also, Clicks 'n Giggles children are taught how to properly care for computer hardware and software which will lead to better treatment of your equipment.
